Research and Development
 
Computer simulation of the die casting process is one technique that is used to optimize our designs. This includes die filling and thermal simulation of the molten metal and die steel using the latest software. We also perform stress and deflection analysis on our dies using FEA to ensure predictable behaviour of our dies under the many forces that they experience in the high pressure die casting process. We have developed real-time digital displacement transducers which we employ to verify agreement between our modelling data and foundry results.

We have also developed a computer-controlled system that monitors a die's temperature and automatically makes an appropriate change to cooling water flow rates to correct the die's temperature at multiple points, for more information click here.
